Maintaining Your Protection
Your car washing techniques will need to be modified to accommodate your new ceramic coating. A ceramic coating can take about 2 to 3 weeks to fully cure. Certain factors, such as humidity and temperature can affect this cure time. Proper care during this 2 to 3-week curing process is crucial to the longevity of your ceramic coating.
During the 7 Day curing period be sure to avoid:
* Parking under trees – especially if the leaves are falling. You don’t want tree sap on a fresh ceramic coating.
* Allowing bird droppings, tree sap, bug residue, or pollen to sit on the car and cook in the hot sun. Bird droppings and deceased bugs contain uric acid. This acid can cause damage to a freshly coated vehicle.
* Washing or scraping the paint. Your Ceramic Coating must be given the time to cure properly. Once your Ceramic Coating is fully cured, please refer to your routine maintenance instructions.
In the first 7 Days, should you notice water spots, bird droppings, tree sap, and other contaminants of the sort, immediately remove them according to our after-care instructions. Use caution, especially in the first 7 Days. The coating is still soft, We are available for any questions that you may have.
It is recommended that you wash your car on a bi-weekly basis to avoid the buildup of excessive contaminants. Do not go through the automatic car washes, as the force from the brushes can damage a ceramic coating during the curing process. Additionally, many of the automatic car washes have a high PH level. By following the after instructions for your Ceramic Coating, your Ceramic coating will cure properly and you will get the full protection of a Ceramic coating for your vehicle.
After washing, do not use wax on your new Ceramic Coating. Because of the unique chemical composition of a Ceramic coating, the wax cannot and will not bond to the coating.
